Experience Comox Valley - Spring 2025
The Client: Experience Comox Valley
The Story: The Okanagan is home to world-class mountain bike trails and a community of passionate mountain bikers. The only problem for these mountain bikers is that the silty soil that makes up their trails becomes unrideable as soon as winter brings excessive moisture to the landscape. This leaves thousands of mountain bikers in the Okanagan putting their bikes away for the winter to collect dust.
We have a solution for them.
The temperate rainforest ecosystem in the Comox Valley has adapted to high moisture levels, providing riding conditions that most mountain bikers would call “Hero Dirt”. The dirt and a typically high snowline make Cumberland a year-round mountain biking destination and an ideal getaway for Okanagan residents to scratch their off- season mountain biking itch. We will highlight the story of two friends hopping on a Pacific Coastal flight from the Kelowna International Airport to the Comox Valley Airport to spend a weekend in Cumberland renting bikes from Dodge City Cycles, riding in the world-renowned Cumberland Community Forest, staying at the Riding Fool Hostel, and enjoying all the fun food options on Dunsmuir Avenue.
